About

The Story-

Is anything more terrifying than puberty?

Charlie is your average middle schooler with his crew of trusted friends and a tolerable family life. But when the pandemic forces everyone into lockdown, he begins experiencing changes. BIG changes. At first, he thinks it’s just puberty – until he realizes this is something else entirely.

Isolated from his friends, Charlie faces these transformations alone. Now school’s reopening, and he has to return to campus. How can he hide what he’s becoming when even the sunlight betrays him?

In a world where many struggle with invisible conditions, Charlie’s supernatural coming-of-age story reflects the very real challenges of navigating middle school while managing something you can’t let others see. Diurnal Wolf Boy is more than just another middle school drama – it’s about finding the courage to ask for help and discovering your pack in unexpected places.

Me-

Is anything more terrifying than a new endeavor?

The only thing that exceeds it, is becoming a parent. I’m a husband, father, educator, and general all-around creative. My education and training is in writing and visual design, and I’ve worked in higher education since 2007, teaching English, Arts and Humanities. I’ve been a life-long comic book fan, and it has been my ambition since I was a child to create my own comic book.

Comics is the creative medium that’s had the biggest impact on my life by far. My love of comics has influenced me, either directly or indirectly, in most of the major decisions in my life and I will be forever grateful for how they have helped to mold me into the man I am today (for better or for worse).

Diurnal Wolf Boy is my homage to the horror comics of the Bronze age and what came before. Marvel’s Werewolf by Night was singularly transformative in the way I looked at comics, both as a storytelling device and as an art form. That passion has stayed with me for my entire life. Diurnal Wolf Boy is my expression of that passion.

I hope you stay tuned and drop in from time to time. There’s plenty more to come. See you soon!
